Important Docs

Student Timetable aka “Schedule”
A timetable is given to each student on the first day of school. It will show your teen’s daily class schedule. It details the teachers’ names, the class time and location. Students carry their copy, so make a home copy for yourself for you reference- it’s helpful to have this information on hand when questions or concerns arise. Families with multiple households are encouraged to make copies for each household for direct reference.

The Bell Schedule – ‘The Parent Version’
This version of the Bell Schedule is especially for parents- it shows the hours of operation of the front office, accounting, registrar and counselling department to help you conduct basic business like paying fees, making deposits, time slots for parent-teacher or parent-counselor conferences and so on.
Overall we encourage scheduling of routine appointments for after school when possible. Please refer to your teen’s Timetable and the Bell Schedule when appointments, travel plans and the like and avoid taking your teen out during any classes s/he is not as strong in.

REPORT CARDS: The 3 Types- Progress Reports, Status Reports and Summary Reports.
The registrar issues 8 report cards to every student each year: 4 mid-quarter "Progress Reports", 2 "Status Reports" at the end of 1st and 3rd Quarter, and  2 "Summary Report Cards"at the end of each semester.

At each mid-quarter, each student receives a progress report showing the current grade. It will show a title of “Hawaii Progress Report Parameter” at the top of the page. These grades are not recorded as part of the official transcript, it just shows the current progress.

At the quarter-mark, each student receives a status report. It is formatted just like the progress report but the grade is recorded as the quarter grade. Cumulative GPA is NOT calculated at this time.

At the end of each semester, each student receives a report card that is a ‘summary report’ This report card is referred to in DOE documentation as a summary report because it shows a summary of a student’s grades earned for each class at each quarter mark, and the grade earned for the semester. This report card has no obvious title or heading to identify it.. Cumulative grade point average is calculated at this time.

We encourage parents/guardians to work with their teen to establish a file for their teen’s school documents including copies of their timetable, progress reports and report cards, honors applications, letters of acceptance, etc.

Registration Handbook (aka Course Catalog)
For your reference during annual course registration. Content can change from year to year, when in question, please check how old the copy you're looking at is.

Some of the content on this page was compiled from content on DOE web pages.  The PCNC facilitator is available to all parents/guardians to go over any of the above information and can assist you in connecting with your child's counselor, teachers or school administrators if there are further concerns or questions. Please find contact information for the Kapaa High PCNC at the top of this blog's main page.
