First Day of School-All Students, Tues August 3rd

Students can just bring a pencil/pen and a notebook on the first day.
Students convene before school in the courtyard in front of Building I- where Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors can pick-up their OFFICIAL timetables (class schedules). (Freshmen wll have gotten theirs during orientation the day before- see earlier post on Freshman Orientation for details). All students will then proceed to their 1st period class according to the regular schedule. Classes begin at 7:45am.

Over the course of the opening days of school, teachers will provide information regarding their class, including class syllabus, supplies lists and if they use Engrade or edu20 online class/homework tools, may also provide login information and passwords to your teen. Teachers may require additional supplies for their courses during the year.

6:00 Accounting Office Opens
7:00 Front Office, Principal, VP & Registrar’s Offices Open
7:40 1st Bell, (5-minute warning bell)

Class of 2014 Freshman Orientation- Mon August 2nd- 1/2 Day

Welcome Class of 2014!
Freshmen will meet at the gym, pick-up their welcome packet and attend an assembly led by the administration and faculty. (Their welcome packet includes their class schedule.) Students will then make the rounds through a short version of their day, finding their classrooms and meeting their teachers. Their day includes a stop at the front office where they will have their student ID picture taken.

Who: Freshmen Class of Kapaa High School (Class of 2014)
What: ½ Day Freshman Orientation
When: Monday August 2nd, 2010, 7:45am-Noon
Where: Kapaa High School – Assemble at the Gym. Drop-off / parking in upper lot (by the gym).

To ensure availability of lunch account funds on the first day of school, initial deposits to lunch accounts should be made before the start of the school - preferably during fee payment week- at the Front Office.

Parents and guardians are welcome to join their teen for all or part of the day.

Kapaa High does not have an annual open house, nor parent-teacher conference "days", so this is a convenient way for parents/guardians of freshmen to make initial introductions with their teen's teachers.
